About Me

My name is Ryan Miller, and I am a psychoanalytic therapist in private practice. My therapeutic approach is shaped by psychoanalytic principles, including attachment theory, object relations, and relational theories. I also work to incorporate insights from feminist, queer, and critical theories.

I hold a Bachelor of Science from Oregon State University and a Master of Social Work from Smith College School for Social Work. My passion for psychoanalytic therapy has continued to grow since my time as a student. I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Washington State (LW61580671).

Throughout my career, I’ve gained valuable experience in various therapeutic settings, including a vocational farm, residential day programs, therapeutic schools, jail, and community mental health organizations. These experiences have enriched my understanding and allowed me to grow alongside individuals from diverse backgrounds.

As a therapist, I believe in the importance of having a deep understanding of the therapeutic landscape we navigate together. That’s why I prioritize my own growth through ongoing psychotherapy. Additionally, I pursue postgraduate education through classes at multiple psychoanalytic organizations in Seattle and participate in ongoing consultation groups with colleagues.
